Navantia Seanergies awards Amper Group the contract for the assembly and construction of jackets components for the Dieppe Le Tréport wind farm

  • The contract, awarded to the subsidiary Nervión Naval OffShore, is the biggest in the history of Amper Group, and will be developed between 2023 and 2025.
  • The backlog, including this new contract of Nervión Naval Offshore for Amper’s amounts to more than 140 million.
  • The structures are destined for the Dieppe Le Tréport wind farm and will be installed on the French coast. With this new contract, Nervión Naval Offshore will employ around 1,000 workers and will expand the current supply chain to complete it with the necessary capabilities to undertake this type of contract.
  • With this award, the Amper Group takes a significant step forward in its vocation to become a benchmark player in the Energy and Sustainability sector, as set out in the Strategic and Transformation Plan 2023-2026, which was recently presented at the Madrid Stock Exchange.

Madrid, 2nd June 2023-. The Amper Group, through its subsidiary Nervión Naval Offshore, will build components and carry out assembly work for the offshore wind structures that the joint venture comprising Navantia Seanergies and Windar recently contracted to supply the Le Tréport wind farm off the French coast. Through the Naval OffShore division, this is the largest order received by the Amper Group in its history. As a result, Nervión Naval Offshore’s portfolio amounts to more than 140 million euros.

The award of this work, by Navantia Seanergies, involves the prefabrication of metal components such as nodes, secondary steel and assembly of the jackets or structures to support the wind turbines on the seabed. The project is scheduled to be executed between 2023 and 2025 at the Navantia Fene (A Coruña) facilities.

Nervión Naval Offshore has participated to date in the manufacture of more than 170 jackets, including those manufactured for Navantia in Spain and for SDMS in TAIWAN, making it one of the private companies with the largest workload in this sector worldwide.

The jackets provide stability to the wind turbine and allow it to withstand the most extreme environmental conditions in environments between 60 and 90 metres deep at sea, while for deeper waters, floating structures such as semi-submersible, Spar or TLP structures are used, of which Nervion Naval Offshore is also an expert manufacturer.

Nervion Naval Offshore is also an expert manufacturer of semi-submersible, Spar or TLP floating structures.

Nervión Naval Offshore is also participating in the contract that Navantia Seanergies is executing at its facilities in Puerto Real (Cádiz) for the American fields Ocean Wind and Revolution. This contract consists of the manufacture of 5 large metal structures for coupling electrical substations to monopiles.

Progress on the Strategic Plan

The CEO of the Amper Group, Enrique López, said that “in the area of Energy and Sustainability, we want to be a major player in the design and construction of structures and electrical substations for offshore wind farms, contributing to the creation and leadership of a Spanish business ecosystem that can position itself as a comprehensive global supplier in the construction of offshore wind energy infrastructures”.

With this new contract, the Amper Group increases the workload of its subsidiary Nervión Naval Offshore by 50%, currently employing more than 500 workers, a number that will have to be substantially increased in the near future, and represents an important step forward in meeting the objectives set out in the Strategic and Transformation Plan that the company recently presented to the market at the Madrid Stock Exchange.

This plan aims to make the company a benchmark player in the Energy and Sustainability sector, with a forecast revenue of 550 million euros in this business unit by the end of 2026.

Energy and Sustainability, together with Defence and Security, and Telecommunications, is one of the three strategic growth axes of the Amper Group, which aims to reach a revenue figure of 1,008 million euros by the end of 2026.
