• The company is deploying at the Albacete Air Base within the framework of the BACSI 2026 Technological Demonstration Days, an integrated ecosystem of defense, critical communications and energy autonomy to strengthen national technological sovereignty.

Albacete, March 18, 2026 -. As part of the BACSI Exercise (Connected, Sustainable and Intelligent Air Base), inaugurated today by H.M. the King, Grupo Amper has unveiled a technological deployment focused on strategic autonomy and the protection of critical infrastructures.

The company has demonstrated how the integration of smart energy and critical communications is key to modern defense operations in today’s increasingly complex environment.

Energy Autonomy through Smart Microgrids

The key differentiator of Amper’s showcase is its Deployable Energy System. This solution, based on smart microgrid technology, enables military units to manage their own power generation and energy storage in a modular way.

The system ensures the continuity of tactical operations even in contested or isolated environments or in the event of failures in conventional power supply, integrating the entire architecture under a single intelligent control system.

Digitalization and Efficiency: The SIGEBAE Model

As a cornerstone of this transformation, Amper is leading the SIGEBAE project, aimed at the intelligent management of energy and operations across all Spanish Army bases.

Through its multidisciplinary platform OPTENER and modular hardware ECONET, Amper enables real-time monitoring and management of critical consumption such as electricity, water, gas, and fuel. This technology, currently being deployed as a pilot project at the Príncipe Base (BRIPAC) of the Spanish Army, leverages IoT sensors to maximize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.

At the same time, it ensures that the Army maintains full sovereign control over its data. This model is also scalable and can be extended to the Navy and the Air and Space Force.

A Multi-Layered Defense Ecosystem

In the field of Security, Amper has showcased its integration capabilities in Albacete through its Command and Control (C2) System and its C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial System) platform.

This multi-sensor system is designed for the detection and neutralization of hostile drones, featuring an open architecture that enables coordinated and effective defensive management.

Additionally, the company has demonstrated its capabilities in critical communications integration, including its aeronautical communication solutions (technology present in 86% of Spanish airports), which ensure reliability in air traffic management, as well as the robustness of its RF equipment.

Our presence at BACSI demonstrates that the protection of a modern base depends not only on its physical defense, but also on its ability to remain operational from an energy standpoint and securely connected,” said Manuel de Oliveira, CCO of Grupo Amper.

With this deployment, Grupo Amper reinforces its commitment to Defense and National Security, delivering dual-use solutions that protect both military environments and critical civilian infrastructures.
