The President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, accompanied by the Regional Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, highlighted Galicia’s potential to develop offshore wind energy, particularly floating wind, while ensuring full compatibility with fishing and shellfishing, which are also strategic sectors for the region.

The head of the Galician Government held a meeting with the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of Amper Group, Pedro Morenés and Enrique López, to whom he conveyed the Xunta’s commitment to renewable energy production and decarbonisation, given the geographical, meteorological, oceanographic, and industrial factors of the region.

In this regard, Rueda expressed the Galician Government’s intention to participate in the first national auction to be launched for the development of offshore wind farms.
