A Coruña, June 5, 2026. Elinsa, Amper Group’s Energy Management and Storage company, has been awarded additional lots beyond those already granted in April for the manufacture of the electrical infrastructure of the future Fleet Replenishment Ship (BAC) that Navantia will build for the Spanish Navy.

This contract is part of one of the Special Modernization Programs (PEM) established under Spain’s Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and Defense, enabling Amper to continue contributing to the consolidation of the national supply chain for Navantia and Spain’s naval defense industry.

Elinsa, a benchmark company in the design and manufacture of electrical systems and power electronics, will supply these essential components for the operation of the BAC. The contract includes:

  • Load Centers: Their function is the distribution of electrical power, as well as the protection and control of the various switchboards installed on board, such as Motor Control Centers, ballast pumps, compressors, osmosis plants, and other electrical panels on the vessel. They provide overload and short-circuit protection, operator safety, and monitoring and control functions for the voltage supply system serving the different onboard equipment. Therefore, Load Centers perform isolation, protection, and switching functions.
  • Shore Connection Switchboards: Shore Connection panels allow the vessel to receive power from shore in a controlled and safe manner, as well as to act as a power source for other ships. When the vessel is docked, these switchboards make it possible to replace diesel generators with electricity supplied from the terrestrial grid while maintaining all onboard services operational. They act as the interface between the port’s electrical installation and the ship’s electrical systems and may also enable the vessel to supply power to other ships.

Within this PEM, the company provides its technology to one of the most versatile vessels in the Spanish Navy’s fleet. The BAC is designed to supply fuel, provisions, and spare parts at sea, carrying out critical logistical operations where continuity of electrical power is essential to mission success.

With this new contract, Amper continues to strengthen its industrial and technological capabilities in strategic sectors, consolidating its position in dual-use technologies aimed at enhancing national capabilities in areas critical to strategic autonomy and technological sovereignty.
