Madrid, June 17, 2026.– Amper, through its Defence and National Security Business Unit, is developing the innovative initiative “PREDAIR: Towards the Future of Predictive and Reliable Availability of Critical Communications in Aeronautical IP Networks”, a strategic R&D project framed within the Aerospace PERTE programme and funded by the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI). The project is aimed at strengthening the security, availability and resilience of critical communications across aeronautical IP networks. PREDAIR is scheduled for completion on December 31, 2026, and is structured around two major milestones focused on the development and validation of advanced predictive monitoring technologies for Air Traffic Management (ATM) environments.

The project aims to develop an advanced solution based on artificial intelligence, big data analytics and real-time monitoring to ensure the availability and quality of Ground-Ground and Ground-Air communications operating over critical aeronautical IP networks. To achieve this, the solution will integrate intelligent probes distributed across network nodes, advanced data processing engines, AI algorithms for predictive anomaly detection, and interactive dashboards with real-time alerting capabilities.

The technology developed under PREDAIR will enable the anticipation of critical failures in aeronautical communication protocols through the continuous analysis of large volumes of real-time information, improving operational efficiency and reinforcing the security of critical air navigation infrastructures. Furthermore, the system will be designed to ensure interoperability with EUROCAE ED-136 and ED-137 international standards, contributing to the modernization and digitalization objectives promoted within the framework of the Single European Sky initiative.

The project represents a significant technological breakthrough in the application of artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies to critical communications networks, strengthening Amper’s position as a leading technology provider of advanced solutions for the aerospace, defence and security sectors.

Beyond its ATM applications, PREDAIR will enable the exploration of future use cases in other critical sectors such as transportation, logistics, energy and emergency management, thanks to its modular, interoperable and scalable architecture. The project will also contribute to operational sustainability by optimizing energy consumption and indirectly reducing emissions associated with disruptions in air traffic operations. 

Through PREDAIR, Amper continues to strengthen its industrial and technological capabilities in strategic sectors, consolidating its position in dual-use technologies that support the energy transition, industrial digitalization and the enhancement of national capabilities in areas critical to strategic autonomy and technological sovereignty.
